Georges St-Pierre strikes again

More solid blogging from the UFC's most deadly French-Canadian, and current welterweight champion, Georges St-Pierre. Excerpts from GSP's most recent Yardbarker post, "Catching Up from Albuquerque." On his friend, Patrick Cote, who is training to fight Anderson Silva: "Patrick looks better than I have ever seen -- even though the odds are not in his favor, I would not be surprised to see him shock the world. It would be great to have world champions in Quebec!"

On EliteXC: "Gina [Carano] did a nice performance and I'm glad for her because she also represents the sport very well. The main event was obviously a tough situation because Ken had to pull out because of a cut... and I have a lot of respect for Seth & Kimbo to still go out and put on the fight for the fans."

On his mentor, Krystoff Midoux: Krystoff was my idol because he was coming from a Kyokushin karate background like me, and he used to knock out all his opponents in less than 30 seconds. At this time, everybody told me that I would never be able to be a UFC fighter, because I was not strong & not big and not good enough. Believe it or not, but I met Krystoff in the street one day by pure coincidence. I stopped him and he was very gentle with me because he took the time to talk to me... he told me that if I was interested, I could start training with him and he would start teaching me how to train and change my routine for a more appropriate MMA training."
